Living Life to the Fullest…
It goes on with or without you.
The last couple months have shown me more milestones again — more weddings more births more funerals — and I do believe more growth. No matter where you are at — life goes on — with or without you and all around you . I’m going to use this as a legitimate reason for my being absent from this website for too long again.
Maybe it’s just the older we get?
Could it be that the older we get — the more we pay attention to these life events? The common themes that run among them is to “enjoy every moment“. “Maintain a sense a humour“. “Love like there is no tomorrow”. When these are lived in harmony “living life to the fullest” may just be the happy accident that results.
What exactly does that mean? How exactly is that done?
I believe it literally means to fill your personal metaphorical cup (as opposed to your travel mug) and drink deeply from it — whatever stage of life you are in.
It All Adds Up…So Fill the Cup
Your life becomes the sum of what you put in that cup. Who you allow to help fill it. How long you hold onto it. Whether you refresh it often or let it run dry before you fill it again. Perhaps someone has added something inappropriate into that cup and you need to dump it and start again. Or the contents has become stagnant — losing its fizz — and once again you need to empty and refresh it.
Perhaps your cup is so overflowing with joy and love that is spilling on those around you.
You may be getting spilt upon by friends and family.
It may be that your cup is feeling empty because your trying to keep other little cups full with your own.
Whatever the current state of your cup, do your best to fill it with the good stuff in life. These are not material things. Fill it with things that matter. With time with family and friends. Making positive memories where and whenever you can. Pick up a new hobby. Learn a new skill. Put a mento in that cup of fuzzy cola and watch it grow! Spread that fizzy flow everywhere. Life feels shorter the older we get and this is the reason. When you are 4 years old — 2 years is half your life — when you are 60 plus years — 2 years feels like a fart in the wind. Gone before you realize it happened. It’s like someone is holding down the fast forward button!
So fill your cup with love, joy, happiness and peace (as often as you’re able to) and don’t forget to spill a little of it over on those around you .
Cheers 🥂— may your cup always run over .
